ABOUT US

Lupososhi District is located 58Kms west of Luwingu District. The District Shares boundaries seven (07) Districts namely Chipili, Mansa, Kawambwa, Chifunabuli, Samfya of Luapula Province and Luwingu and Chilubi of Northern Province. The District is one of the newly created Districts and is about 223Km from Kasama, The Provincial Capital of the Northern Province. The district has an estimated population of about 77 891 according to the Zastats projections of 2019. Lupososhi District Lies between longitudes 29.700067 and 29.698692 degrees east of longitude Zero and between latitudes 10.527942 and 10.526592 degrees south of the equator. It further lies between altitude 1000 meters and 1300 meters above sea level. The district has one Constituency and consists of Thirteen (13) wards which are spread across three chiefdoms namely Chungu, Chabula and Katuta. The eleven wards are Kampemba, Mufili, Mulalashi, Ilambo, Kafinsa, Ibale, Bwalinde, Lubwa, Itandashi, Kaela, Kalinga Munshinga and Katilye. The District being a rural District has a large portion of the population engaged in small scale farming, Fishing and Small Scale Mining. The District has two farming blocks namely Katuta and Chungu Farming blocks with seven (07) camps namely Chungu, Mapulanga, Mufili, Mutondo, Chibaye, Katuta and Nsombo.
