LUPOSOSHI HOLDS DISTRICT DELIMITATION SITTING; KALOMBOSHI CONSTITUENCY PROPOSED

Lupososhi District has proposed creating a new constituency, Kalomboshi Constituency, after a District Delimitation Sitting at the Civic Center. The meeting, organized by Lupososhi Town Council, looked at restructuring constituencies to boost representation and service delivery.
If approved, Kalomboshi Constituency will have 6 wards namely:
Itandashi
Kaela
Kalinga
Munshinga
Katilye
Kafinsa
Lupososhi Constituency will be left with 7:
Kampemba
Mulalashi
Ilambo
Mufili
Ibale
Lubwa
Bwalinde
This would take the district’s constituencies from One to two.
District Electoral Officer Sydney Hamooya welcomed stakeholders, stressing the need for broad participation and calling the meeting “very important to democracy.” He said delimitation aims to strengthen representation, protect community interests, and ensure fair governance.
The proposal is part of national consultations and will be reviewed at a provincial sitting.
